RISING STAR DRIVER MICHAEL ANNETT’S FAST PRACTICE TIMES WERE JUST OFF TRACK RECORD BY .045 AT LAKE ERIE SPEEDWAY

Chicago, IL – June 12, 2006

Rising Star Driver Michael Annett returned from Lake Erie Speedway in ASALMS North Series with some fast practice times but was unable to parlay that into a top finish after his car was hit early in the race. Annett’s day started out well as he finished the first practice session just off the track record with the sixth fastest time of the day. His first lap was a 15.4 and he was on pace for a faster second lap when his foot slipped off the pedal coming off of turn two. Annett still salvaged a sixteenth place starting spot. On lap three, his front-end sustained damage during an effort to get around a multi-car accident which caused the motor to leak fluids. He was forced to exit the race after just fourteen laps. Annett said, “While I know that we will have racing days like this, I hope they are few and far between. I will be happy to get back on the track at South Boston next Saturday.”
Annett is racing in the ASA Late Model Series North Division during their inaugural season this year. He is enrolled in the Rising Star Driver Development™ program and racing for Lorz Motorsports.
