Rising Star Driver Development Signs Austin Woodham

By Rising Star Driver Development/ Kevin Ramsell

Thursday, December 22, 2006 (Chicago, IL)

Rising Star Driving Development (RSDD) has announced the signing of its latest rising star, Austin Woodham. Woodham is a promising young driver that already has had an impressive career in the Quarter Midget and 600cc Mini Sprint cars.

Austin’s career started at the age of 5 when his father purchased a go-cart and he would go on to tear up his grandfather’s backyard. At the age of 7, Austin’s father purchased a Quarter Midget where he went to finish third in his first ever race.

In a five-year period Austin would pick up 250 feature wins, 3 National Titles, 6 track championships, and 14 track records. In 2005, he joined fellow Indiana resident, Ryan Newman, with being inducted into the Quarter Midget Hall of Fame.

In 2006, the La Porte, IN driver moved up to 600cc Mini Sprints where he captured 13 feature wins, 16 heat race wins and 6 trophy dash wins.

Austin said that he chose the Rising Star Driver Development program because of the needed tools and training he need’s to help reach a professional level. “To have an ability to drive a race car is one thing, but to have the ability and be a true professional at the same time is another, this is why I chose Rising Star,” Austin said. “Being a race car driver in today’s world is requiring so much more than just having talent, there is so much more to learn as an individual outside of the racing seat also.”
“ I look forward to surrounding myself with such a dedicated staff and look forward to a long and successful career with Rising Star,” Austin exclaimed.
