MARTINSVILLE NCTS “KROGER 200” UP NEXT FOR RISING STAR’S DODSON

Michelle Petroff for Rising Star Driver Development™
CHICAGO, IL (October 17, 2006)

Hot off of an open-wheel sprint car win, Indiana’s Cameron Dodson is ready to tackle the famed “paper-clip”-shaped half-mile of Martinsville Speedway. Dodson, 18, will once again pilot the #63 MB Motorsports’ entry for the third time of the 2006 racing campaign.

Cameron’s NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series debut came back in August on his home turf at Indianapolis Raceway Park. He impressed series officials and fellow competitors when he qualified for the premier event and advanced six positions for a 29th place finish. His sequel performance occurred last month at the one-mile superspeedway of New Hampshire International Speedway when he improved on a 34th place starting spot to earn his first top-25 finish with a respectable 24th place showing. Dodson is now hoping that the third time is his charm to attempt to break into the top-15 at this weekend’s “Kroger 200” at Martinsville Speedway.

When asked to elaborate on why he’s looking forward to Martinsville, Dodson commented, “The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series is a great place to learn, get experience and race against some of the toughest drivers out there like Dennis Setzer, Todd Bodine, Mark Martin, etc. Martinsville is a difficult track to drive so our first goal is to qualify, stay out of trouble and complete all of the laps. But to bring home a top-15 finish for the MB Motorsports’ team would be awesome. My plan is go out there and learn by watching the veterans.”

Cameron Dodson will get his next opportunity for more seat time as he makes his third appearance in the MB Motorsports’ #63 entry at the Martinsville NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series’ event this Saturday, October 21st. The green flag for the “Kroger 200” will drop at 12:30 pm ET and air live on SPEED.
